Bushfire advice for Indian Ocean Drive

PARKS and Wildlife has issued bushfire advice for people travelling on Indian Ocean Drive Thursday night. 

The April 18 alert is for a suspicious fire reported about 5.06pm in Yanchep National Park in the City of Wanneroo. 

There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.

Although there is no immediate danger, people need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes.

The fire started near the intersection of Indian Ocean Drive and Bailey Road in Yanchep and had burnt about 0.5ha by 6.20pm.

People driving through the area are advised to be careful, turn on headlights, drive slowly and watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.

Firefighters on the scene of the fire, which is contained. 

Roads have not been closed but motorists were asked to avoid the area.
