Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

THE Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued bushfire advice for the northern part of Yanchep.

DFES has advised people near Karril Turn and Parktree Avenue and east of Two Rocks Road to be aware of the fire, which was reported at 12.18pm on February 6.

It said there was no immediate danger from the fire, but people should stay alert, monitor surroundings and watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.

Residents are also advised to close all doors and windows, and turn off evaporative air-conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.

The fire started near the Karril Turn and Munert Street junction and about 45 career, volunteer and Bush Fire Service fire fighters are attending.

Aerial support has been sent to help ground crews fight the fire, which is travelling towards Two Rocks Road.

It had burnt through about 7.5 ha by 1.50pm.
