Business to supply battery storage systems for trial

Synergy named Energy Made Clean (EMC) the supplier for the 1.1MWh systems in the battery storage trials at Alkimos Beach.

The trial will provide valuable lessons about the integration of energy storage into a traditional network and, insights into the products we want to provide to our customers in the future, Synergy chief executive Jason Waters said.

The utility invited 24 companies to tender for the supply and installation of the energy storage system and received 13 submissions from WA-based, Australian and international companies.

Partly funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, the trial is due to start in early 2016, with work onsite from September and commissioning expected in December.
