Businessman launches free library service

According to the City of Wanneroo, the Little Free Library will be open 24 hours a day outside the community centre on Lagoon Drive.

Little Free Libraries offer users free access to books on an honour system, without the need for a library borrowers card, a City statement said.

Books are provided `in good faith in the hope that users will return a book for every one they take.

Local authors Barbara Yates Rothwell will cut the ribbon at the launch on July 21, with fellow authors Rachel Storer, Doug Paling and June Cornock contributing to the library.

The Citys literacy and learning specialist Angela Langford-Smith will speak about the Little Free Libraries concept, and how it could benefit the community. Visitors can bring a book to donate and swap at the library.
