Butler schoolgirl finalist in Zonta Young Women in Public Affairs award

IRENE McCormack Catholic College student Alexandra Robinson has been recognised for her community involvement.

The Year 12 student and head girl was a finalist for the Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs’ Young Women in Public Affairs award.

Alexandra coaches basketball and football, as well as playing soccer and football, with a passion to improve gender equity in Australia.

President Vicki Moir praised Alexandra, along with winner Maddy Barrett of St Mary’s Anglican Girls School and finalist Perth College’s Sarah Soon.

“Every year we are buoyed by the calibre of the young women who apply – they are so inspirational,” she said.

The awards recognise young women’s volunteer and leadership work and dedication to female empowerment.
