The Quinns Rocks 24-year-old ” told he would have trouble with social skills and finding employment ” combined his computer skills with a certificate III in education support to help other young people.

Cale recently obtained voluntary employment at Mindarie Primary School where he assists in the computing class.

‘I realised that the best education and help I received at school was from the support of an education assistant,’ Cale said.

‘As a single parent to a two-year-old, I also knew that I could make a difference to children’s lives because I can relate to them.’

Mindarie Primary School teacher Kerry Avery said Cale had a natural ability to interact with students and assist them to solve problems.

‘Cale has an excellent rapport with the students and they love working with him,’ Ms Avery said.

‘He has a great way of helping the children grasp new concepts and it has been an absolute pleasure having him in my classroom.’

Cale plans to continue his studies.
