East Butler Primary teacher Zoe Williamson said she wanted people who moved to WA between 1945 and 1975 to volunteer to talk to her Year 6 class.
‘I’m looking for mature migrants who would like to share their stories with students,’ she said.
‘If they have got any photographs or anything like that, that would be fabulous.
‘It will be good for the students because a lot of them are migrants as well (and) a good opportunity to build those community relationships.’
Miss Williamson said the volunteers could be from anywhere in the world, and would talk about the reasons their families migrated, experiences on the journey and what they experienced when they got to Perth.
She said the talks would be in early June and anyone interested could call her on 9562 4344.
