A SUPERHERO-themed fundraiser for the Kids Cancer Project will take place in Eglinton next month.
Jane Hunt will host the Cupcakes for a Cure – Superhero Day at the Amberton oval on October 14.
Mrs Hunt has been raising money for cancer research since 2016 after her son Thomas (4) was diagnosed with cancer when he was two years old.

READ NOW“We are raising funds for the Kids Cancer Project, who are dedicated to finding better treatments and eventually a cure for childhood cancer,” she said.
“Science has meant that some types of leukaemia now have a very high ‘cure’ rate, yet other cancers like the rhabdomyosarcoma my son was diagnosed with, hasn’t really made any progress in the last 40 years.
“The rarer cancers receive less funding, as they affect less people.”
Mrs Hunt said there had been plenty of support for the third annual event from businesses and the event would include cupcakes for $4, face painting, superhero training, an animal farm, bouncy castle, school bands and refreshments.
