Ms Whyte will be participating in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World Greatest Shave for the first time this March.

‘I had always wanted to take part (but) always found an excuse not to do it,’ she said.

‘My mum had a bit of a cancer scare at the start of this year.’

Ms Whyte said she realised if someone close to her was sick, such as her six-year-old child, she would ‘do anything in the world to take it away from them.’

‘I’m choosing to shave ” a lot of people don’t have that choice (when they are sick),’ she said.
