Cave party worth wait

Staff ReporterNorth Coast Times

After finding out he had to be nine to go into one of Yanchep National Park’s wild caves, Luan Kqiku counted down a year until his next birthday, his mother, Louisa, said.

‘Luan was so looking forward to holding his birthday party in the cave, that when I told him he would have to wait until he was nine, he started to countdown the days in his head,’ she said.

Department of Parks and Wildlife’s officer Jennifer Green said minimum ages were required for all the park’s adventure caving tours due to the environment of the caves.
