Chairman Arthur Ventham said, among other activities, the charity offered free services, covering areas such as pension, welfare and advocacy.

“The NSVSC provides an invaluable service to veterans and their families and are currently working towards establishing a new Veterans Support Centre,” he said.

It will house a drop-in where not only will it be a place to pop in for a cuppa and a chat, but also offer a range of services for the veteran, their partners and families such as yoga, tai chi, progressive art therapy, anger or anxiety management classes and a host of other healthy and wholseome pursuits.

The centre recently received $300 through Grill’d in Clarkson through its ‘local matters’ program that involves customers putting tokens into jars for local charities.
