Wanneroo City CEO given run on toilet decisions

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

WANNEROO City Council agreed to delegate decisions on the Fisherman Hollow toilet block upgrade to chief executive Daniel Simms last week.

At its November 10 meeting, the council declined all tenders for the previous plan because they exceeded the budget allocation of $452,000 and noted staff would review the design and re-advertise the tender.

Councillors had raised concerns about the cost of replacing the original building, which had been there for more than 43 years, at the previous week’s briefing session.

Following a suggestion by councillor Sabine Winton, the council resolved that Mr Simms would consult the five North Coast ward councillors before approving plans and tenders. The council report said a modular building design similar to a facility on Scenic Drive, Wanneroo would be considered.
