The Yanchep Two Rocks Recreation Association will hold the fundraising car boot sale on April 6 to coincide with the monthly Yanchep Two Rocks Lions Club markets.

Association president Pamela Williamson said they hoped to boost numbers by combining both events, and sellers could book car bays for $8 each.

Yanchep resident Janet Rogers said she and her husband Theo would be trying to sell stock from an import business they closed about three years ago, including doors and wrought iron gates.

‘We used to deal in architectural antiques ” we have got an eclectic mixture (of items to sell),’ she said.

‘I will have quite a big stall of jewellery ” it’s very big and chunky and stylish: lots of pieces at $50 and costume jewellery from $4 or $5.’

Mrs Rogers said the doors were mainly from Egypt, and they would be selling carved stone and old fabric printing blocks from India, as well as clothing influenced by 1930s fashion.

With the couple planning to move back to New Zealand, she said she would also be trying to sell her Mini.

The car boot sale will run from 8am to 11am, with no cost for buyers or buskers.
