Church gives thanks for students’ charity efforts

Prendiville Catholic College in Ocean Reef and Irene McCormack Catholic College in Butler received plaques to recognise their donations.

LifeLink supports the homeless, victims of domestic violence, those with addictions, intellectual and physical disabilities, the aged, refugees and others facing life challenges.

Archbishop Costelloe spoke at Prendiville before attending a morning tea with the student body.

Principal John Aldous said the students found Archbishop Costelloe personable and easy to talk to.

‘He spoke in a very down to earth level with all the students about what it took to organise such a big school event and how the leadership skills they showed were important traits in later life,’ he said.

Irene McCormack principal Robert Marshall said the College was honoured to receive the recognition.
