City of Wanneroo and Wanneroo Business Association hosting seminar on cyber security

PEOPLE can find out how to protect their business from cyber crime at a free seminar in Wanneroo next Friday.

The City of Wanneroo and Wanneroo Business Association are partnering with cyber security experts from across Perth to teach effect ways of minimising the risk of cyber attacks.

Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said small businesses were being targeted by cyber criminals.

“We need to ensure our local businesses are prepared and informed about cyber security and that they are armed with practical solutions they can implement in their business to guard against attacks,” she said.

Association business liaison officer Lauren McGee said the seminar would focus on the protect, inform, educate, report and solutions (PIERS) methodology.

“The PIERS event is a two-way platform where businesses are encouraged to voice their concerns and receive support from the experts,” she said.

The event runs from 1pm to 5pm at Enterprise House in Wanneroo.
