THE City of Wanneroo has agreed to acquire three lots on Moorpark Avenue and part of a fourth to resolve access issues.
During a confidential session at the August 16 meeting, the council |approved spending unbudgeted funds to acquire 59A, 65A and 87 Moorpark Avenue, plus 17sq m of 19K St Andrews Drive from developers Primewest and Yanchep Beach Joint Venture.
Issues about access arose earlier this year after 11 lots on Moorpark Avenue were rezoned from road reserves to residential blocks.

Some existing residents complained that the change would mean they could no longer access driveways or garages that they had built, with the City’s |approval, off the road reserves, believing they had corner blocks.
The council report did not disclose the full costs of acquiring the land but said funds would come from the City’s strategic initiatives and projects reserve.
The council agreed to take no further action on the other seven land parcels.
