City of Wanneroo to host community meeting over Two Rocks beach access

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

THE City of Wanneroo will hold a community meeting regarding beach access in Two Rocks next Wednesday.

The September 21 meeting will be held at the Phil Renkin Recreation Centre from 6.30pm to 8.30pm to discuss the beach stairs on Sovereign Drive.

The City plans to provide information on the outcomes of a technical assessment of the staircase and proposed short-term beach access path.

Following a community campaign last month, the City put its staircase demolition plans on hold pending an independent assessment.

Residents have received emails from the City saying the results of the assessment would be available on its website before next week’s meeting.

They were also told a report responding to the 600-signature petition presented to the council in August would be tabled at a future council meeting.

“All site works are on hold until after the community and council meetings,” an email said.
