THE outcomes of a three-day planning and design forum for the Yanchep Lagoon area will be presented to the community on Monday.

The City of Wanneroo will hold an open house event at Splendid Park from 6pm on December 17, to give residents an update.

Consultancy RobertsDay ran the forum with community representatives, planners, designers, transport advisors and property developers, as well as representatives from State Government agencies and the City.

It included a tour of sites such as Fisherman’s Hollow and the Mary Lindsay Homestead.

The forum is part of ongoing community consultation to create a vision for the lagoon area.

A report is expected to go to Wanneroo Council by mid-2019.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the forum gave participants an opportunity to be involved in the planning process to shape the future of Yanchep Lagoon.

“This forum has ensured all invested parties were able to take part in a practical, collaborative process and directly discuss key issues with one another,” she said.

“There were some key themes and talking points that came out of the forum, including the value that the community shares on the lagoon environment, as well as outlining site constraints, future growth forecasts and highlighting areas of concern.”
