Prompted by questions from Helen Randall at the last council meeting, City of Wanneroo planning and sustainability director Len Kosova said the Harbourside Village owners had lodged retrospective approval for the signs on April 8, but the City was waiting for more information.

‘Following the City’s investigation and subsequent correspondence with the owners and managing agents of the property, the owners of Harbourside Village have lodged a development application seeking retrospective approval for the signage,’ he said.

Mrs Randall asked what action the City had taken since she asked questions last October about the signs which she said had been up since 2002.

Mr Kosova said the City could not take enforcement action until applications had been assessed.

Mrs Randall had lodged complaints about the large signs on retaining walls around the retirement village after she was told to remove a sign for her home business in 2012.
