Clarkson: $6m seven-storey development remains unresolved

Lucy JarvisNorth Coast Times

THE North West Metropolitan Development Assessment Panel deferred making a decision for a second time on a $6 million mixed-use development in central Clarkson.

The five-person panel considered plans for the seven-storey building at 7 Sarasota Pass, resubmitted by T Design and Development for owner Newstar Development Group, on November 7 and resolved to refer it back for more work.

It had previously deferred a decision in June, and panel members said several of the reasons for that deferral had not been addressed in the revised plans.

Those included asking the applicant to provide comprehensive landscaping plans, aligning the floor plans with the elevation drawings, reconsidering the first floor carpark layout and disabled parking bay in the basement level.

Panel presiding member Karen Hyde said the decision to defer, rather than to reject the plans, allowed the applicant six weeks to revise the plans and respond to issues raised during the meeting.

The proposed development of the 1099sq m block included 31 dwellings as well as two shops and an office.
