A COLOURFUL community book launched this month celebrates a play program at Clarkson Library.

The City of Wanneroo launched On the Go at the library on July 6, a children’s book featuring stories and photographs of families who regularly attend It’s All About Play sessions at Clarkson Library.

The free, multi-sensory, hands-on program for families with children up to five years old gives them opportunities play and learn together at the City’s libraries.

“Libraries act as community hubs for our residents, offering safe, welcoming and comfortable locations for our youngest residents to interact, learn and develop,” Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

“Our goal is to provide learning and development opportunities to ensure that all children in the City reach their full potential.”

At the Clarkson Library sessions, staff had noticed how many fathers attended the program, leading to the theme of this book showcasing the contribution father figures made in their child’s development.

The book and others featuring families from Girrawheen and Wanneroo sessions are available to borrow from the City’s libraries.
