The driver said he was unable to deviate as the final destination had been set.

Police say the man became verbally abusive so the driver drove through the drive thru and the man ordered some food.

As the two were waiting for the order, the man continued to be verbally abusive so he was asked to leave. The man punched the driver to the face, ripped the rear view mirror off the windscreen and left the car.

The driver received bruising from the assault.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe can help them with their investigation.

He is described as light-skinned, 20-25 years old, with a medium build, short brown hair and facial hair. He was wearing a black top.

If you have information about the attack or the identity of the man, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
