SHELFORD Constructions has won a $1.257 million contract to build changerooms and a carpark at Riverlinks Park in Clarkson.

The City of Wanneroo council accepted the Rockingham company’s tender offer, which ranked highest of the 11 submitted in September-October, at its November 7 meeting.

The building will incorporate change facilities, toilets, a kiosk, storage facilities and a 40-bay car- park.

The work will also involve a crossover from Connolly Drive for safer vehicle access.

Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the project came about after requests from the local community.

“Council received a petition in 2013 requesting this development,” she said.

Construction work should finish by October 2017.
