The club will register new members from 10am to 2pm at its clubrooms on Quinns Road. Vice-president Des Choake said the club offered six to 13-year-olds a range of training from development of surf awareness skills to inter-club competitions.
‘For the youth (14 and up) there is structured sport training, including inshore rescue boat training, surf boat rowing, beach events and so much more, all of which have the opportunity for inter-club competition,’ Mr Choake said.
The lifesaving club provides about 3000 hours of beach patrols each season and many hundreds of hours more in surf education.
