Club reels in variety of species

The anglers, including two visitors, set out in eight boats and reeled in 10 species through the day, with Kevin Moss catching half the variety.

As well as the most species, Moss hooked the fish of the day, a flathead, and won the men’s competition with 92 points.

Henry Boogaard came second with 50 points, followed by Stewart Bruce with 42.

Sue Boogaard won the women’s competition with 40 points, Sarah Ridley came second with 20, and Chloe Saunders was the junior winner on 20.

At the weigh-in at Mindarie Marina, the biggest fish was found to be Gamini Jayweera’s 7.935kg whiskery shark.
