Education Minister Peter Collier said Perkins Builders would build the $35 million second stage, which would include two classroom blocks and a lecture theatre.
It will also have visual arts, music, media and dance areas, information technology and business studies facilities and additions to the sports hall.
Mr Collier said the school, with 610 students currently enrolled, would have places for more than 1800 students when stage two finished.

North Metropolitan MLC Peter Katsambanis said the education funding gave students the best opportunity to access high quality education. ‘Work is already under way at Butler College to construct an additional new classroom block worth $8.4million, which will provide additional facilities for Year 7 students,’ he said.
