City of Wanneroo assets director Harminder Singh said the council was scheduled to consider the outcome of the Main Roads review at its November 14 meeting.
“Any changes to the current speed limit on Connolly Drive are subject to the outcomes of the council meeting, and Main Roads’ formal approval process which can take up to four weeks,” Mr Roberts said.
Butler MLA John Quigley welcomed the news, saying he had received requests for the increase after upgrades to make it a dual carriageway through Clarkson, Merriwa and Ridgewood.
The City received a 759-signature petition in August calling for the speed limit to be increased from 60km/h to 70km/h along the northern section of Connolly Drive.
