WORK on a 6200sq m park with a nature play area in Alkimos will start this month, a developer says.
Shorehaven estate developer Peet Ltd released a statement in late September that it would start building the park on Comito Bend in early October.
As reported in September, residents said children were playing in the street because the park had not been built, while the developer kept revising plans.
Intending to open that park in summer, and start building another this month, Peet managing director Brendan Gore said the company wanted to create communities where families could get outdoors, relax and enjoy themselves.
“Peet is investing more than half a million dollars into the new Comito Bend park which will ultimately be a big, beautiful recreation space,” he said.
The park will have two playgrounds, including a nature play area with natural materials such as logs, tree stumps, sand and rocks.
The other playground will have a combination play unit with swings and there will be two grassed areas.
