Curtin student wins big thanks to connection with nature

A MINDARIE photographer won a recent competition with a composition inspired by his connection to nature.

Benn Tudor-Roberts (20) called his entry to the June Canon Light Awards 156 (pictured) after counting how many leaves he had placed into the arrangement.

"I was definitely inspired by nature and my connection to it," he said.

"I thought that a tree of life would be a suitable visual and the shapes of the leaves would work well for the high key brief."

The Curtin University student won a Canon EOS 5D Mark III or $4000 online voucher, and is a finalist for the year-end round. The monthly award aims to push the skills of inexperienced photographers.
