Peter Moyes Anglican Community School is holding a tie dye-themed Grand Community Fete on Saturday.

Event co-ordinator Jules Jamieson said they had invited stallholders to dress themselves and their stalls in bright colours ‘to bring the festival atmosphere to the day’.

‘The theme of the Grand Community Fete is ‘tie dye’ as the colours represent all the different cultures within our community,’ she said.

‘It will be held the week before Harmony Week so we are celebrating the multicultural diversity of our local community.

‘We are also celebrating all the unique services, businesses and products, which make up our community.

‘There will be international cultural artists, amusement rides and attractions (and) international foods.’

Ms Jamieson said ethnic groups within the community would be sharing their traditions and beliefs on the day, and there would be a ‘great Aussie barbecue’.

Entertainment will include African drummers, Balinese dancers, Chinese dancers, Frozen characters Elsa and Anna, Brandon Grey, The Filth and Friends, and school alumni from the WA Academy of Performing Arts.

There will also be martial arts demonstrations, family races, a pie cooking competition, market stalls and community groups.
