ELEVEN-year-old Scott Guerini has already walked three marathon distances and written a book, Did you know you can change the world?

Preparing for his fourth marathon walk this July, the Alkimos boy hopes it and the book sales will earn $50,000.

The money raised will go to other children, however, as part of the St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School Year 6 students’ annual fundraiser, Scott’s Great Walk for Telethon.

“He will walk his fourth marathon in July and in celebration of the 50th Telethon, he will walk 50km on the Telethon Weekend – he’s aiming to raise $50,000,” his mother Nicole said.

“As part of his fundraising this year, Scott has written and illustrated a book which he will be selling to raise money for Telethon.

“It’s about how we are all different, we can do little things every day to make a difference and we can also do some big things as well, and then it tells his story.

“The book is interactive and asks questions to get the reader thinking about what they could do and they can write their thoughts on the paper.”

Scott first did a 25km walk from his family farm to Southern Cross when he was four to “help sick kids and babies” and has increased his efforts year on year.

“In seven years, I have walked 340.5km – that’s the same distance as Perth to Wave Rock,” he wrote in the book.

“I’ve raised over $116,000 for Telethon who are a charity that help sick kids and babies.”
