Earthquake strikes off WA coast

A MAGNITUDE 5.6 earthquake has struck off Western Australia at a depth of 10km, the US Geological Survey says.

The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre says there is no threat of a tsunami from the quake which struck at 10.26pm on Sunday.

The tremor struck 203km northwest of Carnarvon in the state’s northwest.
