This Saturday, from noon to 3pm at Dorrigo Park in Jindowie estate, residents can take part in free activities including craft stations, face painting, a ferris wheel, bouncy castle and an advanced visit from the Easter Bunny.

"This is a good opportunity for residents to get together and celebrate Easter in their local neighbourhood," Jindowie Residents' Association president Helen Berry said.

"We will also have a sausage sizzle with funds raised going towards the Jindowie Residents Group.

"Last year more than 300 people came along to enjoy the festivities and we are hoping to get just as many to join in this year."

The March 28 Easter fair is one of two events being organised by the association, in conjunction with the Department of Housing and project manager Australand, to encourage residents to get together and enjoy their community.

The second event is a Sunset Soiree to be held at the Dunk Street Park on Saturday, April 18 from 5pm to 8pm.

"This is the first soiree we have held and we are really hoping the community will get behind it and support it," Ms Berry said.

"Cover band Chain Reaction will entertain people and it will give families a chance to relax, unwind and enjoy catching up with friends and neighbours.

"There will be food vans, along with coffee and ice cream vans, and the children will be able to use the playground equipment."
