Eglinton: Allara estate water playground to open this Sunday

WATER play features will switch on at an Eglinton playground this Sunday.

Allara estate developer Satterley Property Group will host a free community event to celebrate the opening of the water playground in Kinkuna Park from noon to 4pm on December 4.

The park opened in Mayand this weekend’s event will see water play elements switch on for the first time, including a water tunnel, water spouts, fountain spray and jet streams.

The playground which also features fitness equipment, a multi-use basketball and soccer court, nature play, trampolines, percussion play, swings, a fortress connected by ropes and cargo nets and a large kick-about area.

There are also shade structures and seating, barbecue areas and toilets.

Satterley chief executive Nigel Satterley said the 120ha development’s park gave visitors an outdoor escape.

“This brand new water playground is the first of its kind within the City of Wanneroo and we can’t wait to finally reveal it to the community,” he said.

“Kinkuna Park has already become a popular destination where families from the whole region come to spend the entire day and enjoy all the free fun.

“An excellent meeting place like this can really become the heart of a community.”

The water playground at Kinkuna Park will operate between November and April from 8am-7pm.

At Sunday’s event, there will be extra water amusements including a giant waterslide, a water obstacle course and dunking machine, as well as a photo booth, giant Zorb ball and sports activities.

There will also be food, drinks and ice cream available for sale.

As part of the celebrations, Noongar Elder Professor Lennard Collard will perform a Welcome to Country.

Community organisations will also be there, including West Coast Splash Synchronised Swimming Club who will do a sausage sizzle and Butler Netball Club who will sell snow cones.

Kinkuna Park is located on Revolution Avenue, Eglinton.
