THE developers of an Eglinton estate are offering free Wi-Fi at one of its parks to entice visitors.

Satterley Property Group recently announced all visitors to Kinkuna Park in the Allara estate could access the free Wi-Fi 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The developer will also host a free Australia Day event at the park’s water playground on Thursday.

As well as water and adventure playgrounds, there will be organised games and pop-up water amusements at the park from 11am to 3pm.

The Australia vs Pakistan cricket match will be screened and people can bring their own picnics or buy refreshments at the smoke and alcohol-free event.

The Urban Development Institute of Australia recognised Allara last month as an environmentally sustainable development after achieving six elements.

It was the second master-planned community in WA to achieve the rating, having achieved certification for the ecosystems, waste, energy, materials, water and community elements.

Group chief executive Nigel Satterley said it was a great achievement and the first Satterley estate to achieve this certification.

“Working together with LandCorp, we have put a lot of effort into designing a sustainable estate,” he said.

“That includes a community garden, onsite recycling centre, alternative energy sources for homes such as solar panels and energy smart meter monitoring system, bike-sharing facility, reducing the use of potable water within the estate, free community events and activities, and using environmentally responsible materials to construct the planned cafe.”
