The Public Transport Authority (PTA) plans to simulate an incident between the Clarkson and Butler stations on Sunday, September 14, between 10am and 2pm. It will involve PTA staff, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, St John Ambulance, WA Police and the City of Wanneroo.
PTA spokesman David Hynes said anyone who saw unusual activity in the rail reserve should not be alarmed.
‘There will be signage around the area to remind people that it is a simulation, not a real event,’ he said. ‘We carry out these exercises from time to time to test our staff and our processes.
‘In this case, the emergency exercise will allow our station staff, overhead teams and transit officers to familiarise themselves with the station and its infrastructure.’
Mr Hynes said there would be no disruptions to services but advised pedestrians and cyclists to avoid the area.
