A PRIVATE school scheduled to open in Alkimos in 2017 has started taking enrolments.

Building work will start on Northshore Christian Grammar School in Shorehaven estate next year but the school has opened enrolments for kindergarten to Year 6 places.

Swan Christian Education Association chief executive the Reverend Stephen Lee said the school would “exemplify excellence in teaching and learning so that students emerge with a life-long love of learning and a rigorous academic foundation”.

“Our sizable 9.5ha site provides abundant space to house architect-designed learning spaces, as well as sporting and community facilities,” he said.

“The number of inquiries we are receiving shows that there is definitely demand for a school of this kind.

“Places are limited so we welcome parents who would like to secure a place for their child to contact us.”

Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the school would be a welcome addition to education in the region.

“Our City is a rapidly growing community and many families are choosing to settle in the northern coastal corridor,” she said.

“Such growth creates the need for education facilities for children – families require access to a range of education options.”
