LANCELIN and Guilderton residents can attend another round of National Broadband Network (NBN) rollout information sessions next month.
Shire of Gingin President David Roe said people who missed out on recent sessions could attend the June ones, where Telstra representatives will provide information on how they can connect to the NBN.
The project team will be at the Lancelin Community Resource Centre on June 6 and 7, and at the Guilderton General Store carpark on June 8 and 9.
“The Telstra NBN team will be available at these locations from 9am to 5pm each day,” Cr Roe said.
Pearce MHR Christian Porter said residents in Lancelin and Ledge Point could start ordering the NBN service from retail service providers.
Mr Porter said the network would boost productivity and provide a platform for innovation, making the internet available to every Australian.
“The development of digital technologies has reduced business costs, changed how our children study and learn, and created many more ways to engage socially,” he said.
It typically takes a couple of weeks to connect after placing an order and all residents will require new in-home equipment that is compatible with the faster service.
