A MINDARIE family will join a sea of Santas when they raise funds for Variety WA this weekend.

Glenn and Sonia Antonio ” with their children Kade (16), Blace (14) and Coby (11) ” will participate in the annual Santa Fun Run in Fremantle for a second time on December 1.

‘It is amazing watching the sea of Santas running through the streets of Fremantle,’ Mrs Antonio said.

Mrs Antonio said Variety WA had helped fund an electric scooter through Therapy Focus for Coby, who has the rare Morquio syndrome.

‘Essentially it means that all his joints are grossly malformed and he has a short stature,’ she said.

‘It doesn’t affect him intellectually and he doesn’t let it hold him back. We just wanted to give back to them.’

Mrs Antonio said when they enrolled to do the run last year, Coby became the event ambassador and his team raised the most funds.

She said they would decorate Coby’s scooter for the event and had a few families joining Team Coby.
