Senior Sergeant Gary Saunders said detectives charged a father and son in relation to the incident on November 28.
‘About 8.30pm on November 28, the two entered the Beer, Wine and Spirits shop in Quinns Rocks,’ Sgt Saunders said.
They were allegedly disorderly and intoxicated, were refused service and asked to leave.
Police allege the father and son then seriously assaulted the employees of the store, moving behind the sales counter where the employees were punched to the head and body, and struck with bottles.
Sgt Saunders said detectives charged a 30-year-old Heathridge man with aggravated burglary, assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault on November 29.
‘He was bailed with protective bail conditions to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on December 11,’ Sgt Saunders said.
Police later charged the man’s father, a 54-year-old from Jurien Bay, with the same offences plus stealing and criminal damage on December 2.
‘Violence… won’t be tolerated within the community,’ Sgt Saunders said.
He added that police would always give priority in their investigations to crimes involving violence.
