FEDERAL politicians have launched an online campaign to extend the Mitchell Freeway.

Pearce MHR Christian Porter and Moore MHR Ian Goodenough launched ‘Fund our freeway’ website this week and called for community support for the campaign.

The pair are running a petition to extend the freeway from Hester Avenue to Romeo Road and widen the freeway farther south.

“This is something that effects an enormous amount of people in both mine and Christian’s electorate on a daily basis,” Mr Goodenough said.

“If we can show the tremendous support for this project across both electorates we are confident that the government will support the project.”

Mr Porter said the infrastructure projects were essential to ease congestion as the northern suburbs continued to grow.

“They are all about making our lives easier and getting us home to our families even faster,” the Yanchep resident said.
