MINIONS will join in celebrations at the 19th annual Mindarie Festival this weekend.
Mindarie Marina will host the free community event on Sunday, with markets, live entertainment and a kids zone.
Event manager Sarah Mallah said the Mindarie Festival had been running for more than 19 years with the focus to bring people together for a relaxed family-friendly day to celebrate the spirit of local community.
Ms Mallah said there would be plenty of free entertainment, including musicians, local acts and not-seen-before entertainers at the November 22 event.
“We’re excited to be welcoming back Daren Reid and the Soul City Groove and their big band rock sound,” she said.
“He’s always such a crowd-pleaser and gets everyone into the festival spirit and up dancing on the boardwalk.”
Ms Mallah said Dr Bogus would give a three-hour performance at the Indi Brewery and local entertainers would put on a creative mix of comedy and acrobatics.
The boardwalk markets run from 9am to 5pm, featuring 40 stalls with speciality items, handcrafted jewellery, children’s clothes, food, fashions and accessories, plus arts and crafts.
The kids zone will be open from 11am to 4pm, with the Cuddly Animal Farm, a crafty corner, bouncy castle, metallic tattoos, face-painting and wandering entertainers who will be handing out free balloons and lollies.
