A WOMAN was unable to have the tip of her finger re-attached after her ex-partner allegedly bit it off in Clarkson on Saturday.

Police said the finger required amputation down to the victim’s top knuckle. A 32-year-old man was remanded in custody after facing Perth Magistrates Court accused of aggravated grievous bodily harm.

Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said police allege the pair began arguing at a home about 4.40pm.

Officers then claim the man grabbed the woman (32) by the neck and pushed her against a wall, causing her to fall to the ground. He allegedly grabbed her by the hand and bit off the tip of her left index finger.

Sen-Sgt Burnett said two other people were at the property during the alleged assault.

Ambulance officers arrived to treat the woman, taking her to Joondalup Health Campus where she was transferred to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for surgery.
