Firefighters were called to the bushfire Tuesday morning north of the Splendid Park playing fields, with DFES issuing advice issued for people in the area mid-morning.

While there was no threat to lives or homes, DFES advised people in the area bounded by Marmion Avenue, Karril Turn, Chittick Way and Yanchep Beach Road to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changed.

In its mid-afternoon update, DFES advised that the fire had burnt through 10ha, but was stationary, contained and under control.

The fire started near the intersection of Stevenage Street and Welwyn Avenue and had been moving slowly in a westerly direction in the morning.

Roads have not been closed but motorists were asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.
