Soon after, Polish-born Maciej made his way to Wanneroo Showground to become one of the City of Wanneroo’s 751 new Australian citizens.

‘It’s crazy that our son was born and Maciej became an Australian citizen all on the same day,’ Australian-born Amy said.

‘It was a bit surreal and weird how it all worked out. Lucas will have fireworks every year for his birthday.’

Maciej has lived in Perth for five years.
