First farmers’ market a hit

Stallholders were swamped with people shopping for organic and conventionally grown fruit and vegetables, bread, meats, eggs, fresh flowers, pasta, spices, nuts and coffee at the March 7 market.

Satterley Property Group’s community development co-ordinator Lyndsey Stoney said the markets were a ‘sell-out success’.

‘Within two hours, some stallholders had sold out ” they are preparing to fill their trucks with more produce to keep up with the demand,’ she said.

‘We were blown away with how popular the markets were and how Perth’s north coast community responded to having their very own farmers markets.’

Paul Ashbolt and the team from the Leederville Farmers Market will co-ordinate the markets every Saturday in March.

The Eden Beach Farmers’ Market will run again from 8am to 1pm on March 21 and 28, on the corner of Reflection Boulevard and Midsummer Avenue.
