Police charged the woman with drink driving, and dangerous driving causing bodily harm and grievous bodily harm.
They will allege between about 9.15pm on May 3, the woman was driving a black Holden Commodore north in the southbound lanes of the freeway in Salter Point.
The vehicle had a head-on crash with a car travelling south, with the man (20) driving that car receiving minor injuries and the female passenger (19) receiving life threatening injuries.
