DEVELOPERS expect about 1000 people to attend the inaugural Atlantis Beach and Capricorn Yanchep carols by candlelight this weekend.

Project director Jarrod Rendell said the December 12 event at Old Nursery Park was open to everyone, starting at 5.30pm.

“We encourage everyone to bring their very best singing voice along, and invite family and friends to this fun event,” he said.

“Pack a picnic or enjoy the sausage sizzle being organised by the Lions Club.”

A wide selection of local community groups will perform, including singers and choirs from Kinross and Lancelin primary schools, and the Lake Joondalup Baptist College.

There will be a number of highly professional singing groups, including the Adam James and Mia Simonette duo.

And a special visitor will arrive on a fire truck during the interval thanks to the assistance of the Two Rocks Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.

This is an alcohol free event and glow safe candles will be available for a gold coin donation. There will also be ice cream and coffee vendors.
