Gingin firefighters keeping locals safe in shiny new trucks

FIREFIGHTERS are travelling in new trucks ahead of the next bush fire season in the Shire of Gingin.

The Gingin South, Gingin West and Guilderton volunteer bush fire brigades each received a Hino truck recently to replace the Shire’s ageing fleet.

The cost of the trucks was covered by the Emergency Services Levy.

Three volunteers from the Guilderton brigade received milestone service medals at a function held at the Redfield Fire Shed in April.

Bill and Judy Marshall received their 15-year national service medals and Steve Owens received his 10-year state service medal.
