Peter Moyes Anglican Community School Year 2 students Dion Gilling, Hayley Mann, Chloe Coetzee and Adam Foster recently put on the uniforms created for St James Anglican School when it opens next year.

The Anglican Schools Commission plans to open part of the co-educational school for Kindergarten to Year 6 in 2015, expanding to Year 12 by 2021.

It will spend $17 million during stage one to develop the 10ha site in the Alkimos Beach estate, a partnership between Landcorp and Lend Lease.

Lend Lease general manager of communities in WA Anthony Rowbottam said having a private school onsite was a boost for the greenfields community.

‘One of the most common questions asked by families when buying land at Alkimos Beach is what schools are available in the area,’ Mr Rowbottam said.

‘As the first co-education, private school in the area, it will give parents wider choice when choosing a school for their children.’

ASC chief executive the Reverend Peter Laurence said construction of the first stage of the campus would start in early 2014.
